Research interest

The research interest in my group is mostly concerned with the theory of disordered systems and modeling complex materials incorporating a broad range of topics from electronic structure of amorphous materials, and Anderson localization in quasiperiodic and disordered systems to multi-objective optimization problems in mathematical physics. I am particularly fascinated by information-theoretic approach to material design and, in the recent years, I am actively working towards developing inverse methods and its application to design complex semiconducting and metallic glasses. The other areas of my interest include bio-inspired computation to hard optimization problems, inversion of specific heat in solids, and classical moment problems via maximum entropy optimization.

I am currently on sabbatical in Ohio University as a Robert and Renes' Glidden Visiting Professor of Physics. In February 2015, I will move to the University of Cambridge (UK) for an extended research stay in the department of Chemistry. I will return to the USM in August 2015.
